Date and Time (2003)

Did you ever want to see the date and time while SLIMP3 /
Squeezebox is playing music?

Date and Time

Add a custom.map file with the following entries in the IR
directory.

[common]
now_playing = dead
now_playing.single = playdisp_toggle
now_playing.hold = datetime

Go to the Advanced Player Settings in the Webinterface and
select the custom.map as your Remote Button Functions.

Just press and hold the Now Playing button to show the
date and time for a few seconds.

Thank you Kevin, for pointing that out to me.

SlimServer announcement script (11/14/2005)

Using the CLI of the SlimServer this script interrupts the current playing song,
plays an announcement sound and shows a message, then resuming with the
old song (transcoded music will restart).

Works with all players and SlimServer versions.

Sample output on the display

The script doesn't contain an email client. Above text is only an example.

Added parameters for user/password. (Thanks Mario Wagner)
